Informatics’ IT and Business Programmes Maketh Its Way in Botswana

Informatics continues with its rapid growth in Botswana through Informatics Computer School and Thames Business School with 3 centres operating in Gaborone, Francistown and Molepolole offering programmes ranging from business to information technology certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas.  It started its operations officially in January this year and today they have over 300 students enrolled at its centres.  There is a significant increase in its enrolment for Business Information Technology, Business Administration and Info-Comm Technology programmes offered at all centres.

According to Ms Thilo Nacker, Managing Director of Informatics Botswana, previously the students in Botswana have limited choices for their tertiary education in their country and most of them had to head to Australia ,USA , South Africa or UK to complete their education.  Today, the students, that is, thousands of them who travel annually out of their hometown to pursue their studies now have a choice to study locally at any of the 3 centres by Informatics.

“We are glad that our programmes offered by Informatics Computer School and Thames Business School are recognised and supported by the local government as students will soon be able to apply for Government sponsorship to study at our centres.  Previously, such bursaries were reserved only for the local government institutions but now they are finalising regulation to enable sponsorship to be extended to private institutions like ours.  This recognition is a testament of the quality of our programmes offered at all our centres,” expressed Ms Thilo Naicker.
