Making Waves in the Education Industry in Latin America

 

Informatics continues with its expansion into Mexico with the operations of its first campus in Mexico City by Instituto Informatics México, S.A. de C.V. on 5th July 2004.  The management from Instituto Informatics Mexico, S.A. de C.V, has 37 years of experience in education and they own and operate one of the top higher education institutions in the country (UNITEC).  The official opening ceremony was graced by the management team from UNITEC and Informatics México.

 

Informatics Mexico had started operations with a roaring success.  A total of 170 students had enrolled in the summer courses at the 14,200 square feet campus which is equipped with modern and latest computer laboratory, within 3 weeks after its official opening in Mexico City.  Since its opening, Informatics Mexico has offered several information technology programmes to serve the learning and education needs of its population in Mexico. The programmes offered at the centre include degree, diploma, certificate and language programmes such as Diploma in Business & Information Technology, Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies and short business and IT courses.

 

 

      

 

 

Mr Ricardo Voegelin Shuetze, Director at Instituto Informatics Mexico S.A. de C.V added that, “We are are very pleased with the number of students we have recruited so far.  We are expecting the student recruitment numbers to increase by 3 times within the next 3 weeks after our opening.”

 

Informatics Mexico are buoyant about the opportunities that lie ahead for the centre and they are optimistic about the ability to expand the network within Mexico.  Their 2nd centre at Monterrey campus is expected to be operational in September 2004 followed by their 3rd centre in Guadalajara in October 2004.  The 4th will be opened by a sub-franchisee in Puebla in February 2005 and the 5th in Veracruz will be operational by March.  Informatics Mexico will also be operating its first centre in Brazil by mid-year 2005.

 

“We are embarking on a very aggressive expansion plan in Latin America, we plan to have a network of over 50 campuses throughout this region by the end of 2006,” commented Mr Shuetze.

 

In the next few months, Informatics Mexico plans to launch the Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes in e-commerce and Computer Studies, which are taught in English.  In addition, the Diploma in Computing, Diploma in Communications Technology and Diploma in Information Technology taught in Spanish will be introduced.
