Joy of Studying at Informatics Vietnam

At Informatics, we believe in bringing a true-college going experience to our by students by providing them with a holistic education.

Our students from Informatics of Singapore Centre for Learning (ISCOL) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam share their learning experience with us.  ISCOL offers certificate, diploma and degree programmes in IT for individuals at their centre.

The Best Recommendations is Word of Mouth

Pham Vu Thang, 21

Thang is the class monitor for the Diploma in Computer Studies (DSC) programme at ISCOL, which began its class in March 2004.  Hailing from the An Giang Province, Thang came to Ho Chi Minh City three years ago to study and work.

“I want to become a leader in an I.T. company. When you study computer science, you can become a leader because you gain more knowledge from the many different modules,” he said when asked for his choice of programme. “I like the programme and my favourite subject is Networking. In the modern world in the new economy, all of us need communication to share information so networking is very helpful.”

Thang is happy with the teaching and learning environment at ISCOL, adding that the centre’s facilities are better than a prestigious university that he attended at Ho Chi Minh City in the first two years he was there. “The school is always very clean”, he added on.

He also sang praises of the lecturer, “The lecturer is very enthusiastic and his knowledge is very good. I have learnt many things from him – ways to work, find solutions to problems etc.”

A student of the DCS programme at ISCOL, Thy took up the programme because she wanted to improve on her computer skills. “Today, everything we do, we need to use the computer,” she explained.

“I like the programme because it is very interesting. I have many opportunities to use and work with the computer.” She went on to elaborate, “My favourite subject is Web Design, and I want to use it to do something for my family business next time.”

Lam Thuy Anh Thy, 21

Thy is clearly happy with the lecturer. “The lecturer’s knowledge is very wide and he conveys his knowledge well. We all understand him and he uses a lot of examples. When we ask him questions, he is also very pleased to explain to us clearly.”

“The centre’s facilities are good for studying, especially the computer system, because we all have a one to one with the computer” she concluded.

Le Hong Nhung, 20

“Friendly” is how Nhung frequently describes ISCOL. Also a student of the DCS class, Nhung likes the friendly style of the lecturer whose teaching is easy to follow and understand.

The environment at the centre also gets the thumbs-up from her. “I like the school environment. Computers are available and we can get easy access to information. This is better than other schools,” she claimed.

Would she encourage others to study in the school? “Yes, it’s a friendly place. Everyone is very friendly and approachable” was her quick answer.

Computers and technology is Tuan’s passion, and he is always eager to know more. “Before I join this school, I was doing a computer course in another school. But it was not comprehensive, and not up to my expectation. I wanted to learn more.”

So he took up the DCS programme at ISCOL, and is pleased that he did. He said, “I have learnt a lot and my knowledge in this area has widened. This is a useful programme.”

“The lecturer, Dr Shahul, is very good. He is the best. He takes care of us very well. If we don’t know anything, we’ll ask him. I feel very comfortable talking to him,” declared the young man. “Dr Shahul has very good knowledge and I can learn a lot from him.”

Nguyen Lu Anh Tuan, 24

Kudos to the academic professionals at ISCOL in Vietnam for their commitment in delivery of highest levels of academic quality to our students.
