Raymond Scores his Way in Engineering with Northumbria!

 

Raymond Ng is one of the top students for the first batch of students who sat for their first examinations in May 2004 for Northumbria University’s Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering programme held in Singapore.  This batch of students sat for their first two examinable modules – Embedded Systems & Digital Systems Design (EN313) and Electronic Circuit Design & Manufacture (EN318).  The next 2 examinable modules will be in this December 2004. 

 

“I am flabbergasted of course to be one of the top students for my exams in May,” said Mr Raymond Ng, who is currently working in a German MNC, Liebherr Singapore Pte Ltd and had learned of this programme through an advertisement in the newspaper.

 

Raymond had signed up for this programme as he wanted to reposition himself for economic upturn as well as to upgrade himself for personal knowledge.  In fact,

Some of the modules had given me a better insight to various concerns in the industry and helped me to better understand the importance of manufacturing control, problem solving and many other quality issue,” said He further elaborated that he In fact, this programme had moulded his classmates and his approach to a more independent studying attitude.  From this programme, he had gained better skills through research and report writing.

 

“The programme itself is very good in the sense that it doesn’t overload the student with too much syllabus.  It is really an adult learning kind of programme as the flexibility caters to working adults like myself.  I would recommend this programme to my fellow colleagues and friends as the area of coverage for this programme is reasonable and sufficient.  Also, this programme doesn’t require too long a duration for completion,” added on Raymond.

 

Raymond expressed that some compromises are definitely expected to uphold the commitment to part-time education like spending lesser time for social and family while still trying to maintain the level of commitment and professionalism at work.
