Informatics Computer Studies Graduates Rejoice - Oxford Brookes University is within Top 10 for Graduate Employment!

Oxford Brookes has taken the eighth position in a new table aimed at distinguishing universities whose graduates gain “graduate-type” employment. The “best for jobs” category is contained within the Times Good University Guide published today (Wednesday 7 May). Overall the university has moved three points up the league of Britain’s top 100 universities. At number 48 in the league, Brookes has out-performed many old institutions and has maintained its position as “top new university” for the eighth year in a row.

“This is the first time that the column on graduate destinations in the Times Good University Guide distinguishes those who leave university for ‘graduate-type’ jobs from those who don’t. I am delighted that we are in eighth place in the ‘best for jobs’ category,“ said Oxford Brookes University Chancellor Jon Snow. Garnering a high of 82 percent in efficiency graduate destinations, where it means the percentage of graduates in graduate-level jobs or graduate-track employment as a proportion of all graduates with a known destination.

In 2002, and the preceding 6 years, The Times newspaper’s Good University Guide ranked Oxford Brookes University overall or joint top of the new universities in the UK since it’s founding in 1928. Degrees awarded by Oxford Brookes, which is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), are recognised worldwide, and its Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme enables students to transfer credit to Oxford Brookes or take credit back to their home institution after studying at Oxford Brookes.
